Competencies-Based Learning Model (C.B.L.)
Competency-based learning is an educational approach that focuses on what students can do with what they learn. It is not just about acquiring knowledge, but about being able to apply it in real contexts, with critical thinking, autonomy, and an ethical sense.
This model promotes the development of comprehensive capabilities to act competently in the professional, social, and personal world, preparing students to face the challenges of the present and the future.
To achieve this, instructional designs and intervention proposals are developed that advocate for the development of:
Institutional competencies
Generic professional competencies
Specific professional competencies
It ensures that learning is meaningful, applicable, and aligned with current professional profiles. With active teaching methods that promote problem-solving, critical analysis, and the student's participation as the protagonist of their learning process.
Teaching strategies
They place the student at the center of the learning process and link them with real situations, promoting the development of transferable competencies and a deep understanding of the content.
They foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and allow for the articulation of theory and practice in meaningful contexts:
Phenomenon and data-based learning: study of real phenomena using data to understand and apply academic concepts.
Challenge-based learning: real challenges that motivate learning and develop applicable skills in professional contexts.
Problem-based learning: promotes the active acquisition of knowledge and skills to solve a real problem.
Project-based learning: design and execution of projects, applying knowledge in a practical and meaningful way.
Case method-based learning: analysis of real cases from companies and institutions to face complex problems as in professional life.
